Forgiveness
When was the last time you had the chance to forgive somebody? Was it today? was it a few days back? Was it last year or even last month? When, indeed was the last time you had the chance to forgive somebody?
This sounds an absurd question yet every day we have the chance to forgive people and yet only move away from the opportunity. Okay, if you have not had the chance to forgive somebody, when was the last time you asked for forgiveness for a crime committed. I can see the frowns on the faces of many people. We have a raised ego that does not let us hurt our pride and so are not willing to stoop that low to ask for forgiveness. strangely, when we commit a crime, we willingly accept the fault but are not willing to make amends so as to have a peaceful atmosphere around us and a good relationship with the people around us.
Let's think of the love of God. It is a love that forgives every wrong. The Bible says that He's faithful and just and will forgive us of all our sins. all we have to do is to take them to Him. we sin almost every moment of our lives and are prone to a terrible judgement from Him. Yet, He's willingh to let all of it go if we faithfully tell Him we are sorry.
God gives us new possibilities every day. In a world where men will offend us, we need to learn the art of forgiveness. we need to let people go for in doing that we are actually setting ourselves free and moving towards a normal life on earth. we ought to let ourselves choose what comes out of our lives without letting others have authority over us. we need to let ourselves free so that we can choose what is best for us. Forgiveness, it has been said is the fragrance of a lily crushed under a rock. Give in to the ego of humanity and see what new life you open yourself to when you forgive somebody.
Nothing can make it even better when we realize that God always forgives us. The next time you feel it's hard to forgive, think of the times you've offended God and the fact that He's forgiven you each of those times. If it doesn't sound anything, think of men you've erred against and the times you've felt badly because they have a grudge against you.
Go on today. Go ahead and give yourself the touch of forgiveness. Forgive somebody and live a free life. It doesn't hurt. It actually pays off a lot.
